The Other Right is my creative outlet. Combining nearly 2 decades of wine science and winemaking experience with love of everything fermented.
Wine-making
The wine is made out of grapes and nothing else. By no means a simple task, but challenge is what stimulates creativity. Aspiring to make wine that is precise, pure, and exciting.
Winemaking operations are kept to a reasonable minimum. No unnecessary action is taken. Using fewer tools requires a lot of attention to detail, patience, creativity and problem solving.
No additives are being used, letting the wine evolve slowly, according to its natural rhythm while maintaining its character. Youth and freshness are to shine through, forming wine that is vivid, vigorous, and full of life.
The Fruit
The grapes are sourced from around the Adelaide Hills with the exception of a dry-grown Shiraz we found and fell in love with in Sellicks Hill, McLaren Vale.
As from vintage 2016 all of the grapes are coming from vineyards which are managed by organic and sustainable farming practices.
We've sought long-term partnerships with vineyards that combine good ethics with growing grapes that we think we can turn into an excellent wine. Currently all the vineyards we work with are certified organic.
THE OTHER RIGHT
The Other Right stands for an alternative.
'Right' is a subjective concept. Having heard many times of the Right way (in life, winemaking, you name it) but believing there is more than right and wrong, we started making wine under The Other Right label in 2012.
We love shining the light on the fact that there is more than one "right" way of doing things. We love a challenge. We love creating things that push the boundaries and are exciting, yet simple and approachable. Most of all we're trying to evoke fun in others and not take ourselves too seriously.
Our wines are an expression of us; they carry our thoughts, passions, dreams, foot and hand print. We see them as living things; untamed, happy and free spirited.
We would love to think that when you drink our wine, you're a part of our world.

Our vineyards and winery are located on Peramangk and Kaurna lands.
